What is my Inbox and Private Messages?

An easy way to keep in contact with other members is using private messages. Private messages are basically like email for only the PopSugar Network. You can find your inbox at the top of every page, click on the drop-down menu to view your Message Inbox or Write New Message.

Your inbox will show you who the message is from along with the subject. To read the message just click on the Subject. Using the check boxes on the left, you can mark messages as read or delete entirely. To send a message to a member either go to their homepage and click on Send a Private Message or click on Write a New Message in your inbox and type thier member name. You can send images on private messages, much like a post there is the option for raw html or rich text. Also, please know you can customize your notifications to decide which messages are sent to your personal email or PopSugar inbox.

How Do I Private Message a Member?

If you don't want to post a public message on a member's wall, you can choose to send a private message, which is sent to the member's Sugar inbox. Send a Private Message: Whenever you are viewing a member's profile, just click the Send Private Message link below the member's avatar or the Private Message tab in the top navigation, if you are already their friend. Write your message and click the Send Private Message. Viewing A Private Message: Select Inbox drop down from the black tool bar at the top. Click View Message Inbox or Write New Message. Managing Your Inbox: Check the box next to any message you have read and then select the delete checked messages tab to remove all your private messages at once. You can also select the mark all messages read if you don't want any of those messages to appear as new.

How Do I Add and Remove Friends?

Add Friend From a Post:

Click the [+] next to the member’s name in a discussion thread.

Add Friend From Profile Page:

Go to any member’s profile and look for the Add Friend [+] link listed under their avatar or the Add Friend icon at the far right in the top navigation.

Once you click on the Add Friend feature, the member will appear on your Friend’s list. If you want to view all your friends, just click on the Friends and Followers tab in your profile page. Remove Friend:

Click the [-] next to the member’s name and their name will be removed from your Friend’s list.

How Do I Make Friends?

There are lots of members, who share similar interests as yourself, so get involved in the PopSugar Community! Your first two friends will be the Community Manager and the Sugar girl for the site that you register an account with.

You can also easily from other members from the discussion threads by just clicking on the plus sign (+) next to their name.

Join groups or create your own. Be sure to invite others to join your group as well!
Stay active in the discussion threads and interact with other members.
Give a virtual gift to someone!
Send a friendly private message to a member you would like to get to know better.
